A closer look at the places we call home
ResidentialARC HOUSE is an independent journal about residential architecture, interiors and the way buildings shape daily life. It looks at remarkable houses, architecture on screen and the practical ideas behind memorable spaces.
The journal is edited by Robert, a residential designer based in Perth, Western Australia. His interest is in what makes a design work: how a plan meets its site, how light enters a room, how materials age and how people move through a home.
What you will find here
Project stories explore plans, sections, photographs and the decisions behind a building. Film and television articles examine how rooms, thresholds and settings tell stories. Sustainability pieces consider the relationship between comfort, materials, energy and long term usefulness.
The aim is to look beyond an arresting photograph. A house can be visually striking and still raise useful questions about privacy, climate, maintenance or everyday living. Those questions are part of the story.
Editorial approach
Articles combine credited project information with editorial interpretation. Published photographs and drawings belong to their respective creators; image captions identify sources and credits where established. A credit identifies a creator and does not by itself establish permission to reproduce their work.
If a factual detail or credit needs correcting, please use the contact route below and identify the article and the passage or image concerned. Older stories may be updated as information is checked or expanded.
