Privacy and cookies

Last updated: 20 October 2026

About this notice

ResidentialARC HOUSE is an architecture and design journal hosted on Google Blogger. This notice explains information associated with browsing the journal, using the Reading Room and following book recommendations.

Browsing and site services

Blogger and Google services may process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, referring pages and cookies. Blogger provides hosting, security, comments and readership statistics. The site owner can view the statistics Blogger makes available. Google describes its processing and retention in its own privacy policy.

Saved books and recommendations

The Reading Room stores the identifiers of books you choose to save in your browser’s local storage. This feature does not send your saved list to us, create an account or synchronise it between devices. Use Remove or Clear saved list to delete your selections, or clear this site’s browser data. If browser storage is unavailable, selections last only for the current page visit.

A small recommended reading prompt may appear after three minutes on a story. A session storage flag prevents it appearing again during the same tab session. Closing the tab session or clearing site data resets that flag. No email address is requested by this prompt.

Book covers, previews and purchases

If you choose Add saved books to Amazon cart, the selected books’ product identifiers are sent to Amazon in the link. This requests one copy of each eligible saved title. Amazon controls availability, any confirmation steps and checkout. Saving a book on this site alone does not send it to Amazon.

Book cover images may load from Open Library and Google Books. Loading external content shares technical request information, such as an IP address, with the provider. Preview links open Google Books, where the publisher determines whether a sample is available. Publisher links and other external sites operate under their own privacy policies.

Amazon links are affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon may use cookies or similar technologies to attribute qualifying referrals. Orders, baskets, payment details, delivery information and returns are handled on Amazon. The Reading Room does not operate a checkout or receive your card details.

Advertising and cookies

The site includes Google advertising code. When ads are served, Google and other third party advertising vendors may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses and similar technologies to deliver and measure advertising. Advertising cookies can allow personalised ads based on visits to this and other websites. Whether ads are displayed depends on service approval, settings, visitor location and applicable choices.

You can manage Google advertising preferences at My Ad Center, read Google’s advertising information, and explore participating vendors’ choices at AboutAds. You can block or delete cookies and site storage through your browser. Some functions may then be unavailable. This notice does not itself set advertising consent preferences.

Comments and contact

If you choose to comment, information displayed with your comment may be public. Blogger and your chosen account provider process account and comment information under their own policies. Avoid posting private or sensitive information in public comments. If you contact the journal, information you supply may be used to respond and manage your request.

Third party processing and overseas services

Google, Amazon, image providers and linked services may process information outside Australia. Their privacy notices explain their practices, retention and available rights. See the Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from partner sites. External links and services are governed by the respective provider’s notices.

Questions, access, corrections and complaints

Contact ResidentialARC HOUSE through the blog’s comment form with a privacy enquiry. Leave only a brief request to make contact; do not include personal details in a public comment. Do not include passwords, payment card details or sensitive documents in an initial enquiry. Requests about information controlled by Google or Amazon may need to be made directly to that provider. Information about Australian privacy rights and complaints is available from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Updates

We may update this notice when the site’s services or information practices change. The latest revision date appears above.
